Foreign tourists to Bali seeking composure

Denpasar - Foreign tourists coming to Bali are essentially seeking peace, as most of them are always too busy in their own countries.

Wealth is not the only reason for happiness, especially at this time of the many natural disasters, said Dewa Nyoman Putrawan on Tuesday in Denpasar.

The foreign tourist who came to Bali looking for tranquility, at this time prefer to stay at hotel or villas located at the river or on the slopes of the cliff in the rural areas.

He said that there are changes in the behavior of foreign tourists. In 1980, the international community who enjoyed Bali, prefer to stay in the hotel which located in Kuta, Sanur and Nusa Dua, currently that case does not happened any more.

Recently, the production land in Bali has change the function of villas building. The land use change occurred in Bali about a thousand hectares per year.

I Wayan Munut as a pioneer of hotel development at Ayung river ravine, 30 km northern Denpasar said the same thing.

The rich local and foreign tourists choose a vacation and stays in the valleys because of the silent and quiet environment. Thus caused the land prices in that area more expensive compared to the previous condition.

Dewa who has experience to bring foreign tourists to the tourism object, still remembered the land prices in the ravine area in 1980 only 175,000 IDR per hectare but now reached of hundred million rupiah per hectare.

It is not surprising that the foreign tourists buy land in the valley or ravine then build hotel on behalf of the local people and the marketing strategy carried out abroad. This cases become a general secret, he said.

Bali which is called a paradise island by the international community was able to serve the quiet atmosphere, so that the numbers of foreign tourist who flew directly to Bali increased.

Based on the information from Bali tourism office that the number of foreign tourist came to Bali on July 2010 worth 1.3 million people or increased about 12% compared to the same period in 2009. (*)
