Bandar Seri Begawan - To mark Hari Raya Aidil Fitri, Istana Nurul Iman is opened for three days commencing today. The occasion allows the public to personally meet with and greet His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Her Majesty the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and members of the royal family.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to receive greetings from the male well-wishers. Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji 'Abdul 'Azim and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik. Also present were other members of the royal household.
This morning's visitors to the palace included personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
The opportunity to personally meet with Their Majesties during Hari Raya Aidilfitri festival has become a national tradition. The idea is warmly welcomed by the rakyat and residents of Brunei in celebrating the annual feast and conveying greetings to their beloved monarch and leader. Meanwhile in the other area of the Istana Nurul Iman, female visitors also had the opportunity to meet and convey Hari Raya greetings to Her Majesty the Raja Isteri. Also present were Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab'Rahaman, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah,Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Muta-Wakillah Hayatul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah. Also there were His Majesty's sisters and grandchildren.
